Thanks so much for the treats, Nia! Hope you are enjoying your Saturday! It is a day for fun: I can hear birds singing, sounds of horns, cars, light trains, airplanes, etc. In the morning I went to the synagogue (the first Shabbat service that I attended). It was beautiful! We are going to see Auden and family in the evening. What a change a small child can bring to our family! That’s our weekend so far. No complaints; I need to give thanks! Keep your creativity sharp, as always, in the kitchen, behind the camera, at your writing/computer desk, with your books, etc. Take care and best to you and your husband! 🙂

Sounds like you are having a lovely day. Love hearing about all the sounds. Your description put me right in San Diego. Now that our little get-together is over I am tempted to write, but I think I will read instead. Enjoy your family, evening and Sunday. 🙂 Nia

Thanks so much, Nia! Enjoy your Sunday! I will have to work tomorrow, but not the entire day. Photographers, readers (even amateurs – certainly my case) tend to digress during the day and do things out of the agenda 🙂 Glad that you had a “little get-together.” They are so good for our health! I called two friends in Brazil and we had a very good talk. One had lived in Grenoble for several years and we had an interesting conversation about the sad events in Paris. Some people blame the French for racism towards the population who immigrated from the north of Africa to France, and are unaware of the prejudice and hate of the same population to the French people. It is a problem that it will be hard to solve. Take care! Always good to talk to you! 🙂

Cool that you took time to call 2 friends. I talked to a friend while I was walking the other day. She was driving home from work. Wonderful what technology can make possible. As for France I am starting to read about it. There is an article in the NYT today. I didn’t tune in to the violence. I knew what happened but didn’t want the details in my mind. Now reading a little about the situation there.

I will check the article in the NYT. Thanks for telling me about it. Unfortunately, the risks in the U.S. of such events are big. But we have to live our lives normally, maybe with more caution. Sometimes we have to avoid an immersion into the news and comments about such events. The news cycle may increase the burden on us.

Yes, the news has to be taken in small doses. I try to be very alert whereever I go. I saw a box truck abandoned on the freeway meridian Friday, during rush hour, as we were crossing in the pedestrian overpass. I thought a bomb squad should be sent to check that out. I think a CHP checked it out, but I think why not be cautious, if something looks really off like that? Send the experts as a first responder, just in case. So I see things very differently now, am more alert, while still trying to live fully. I think the authorities should be more cautious too, during high threat times, like now.

You are right, Nia! We have to be cautious. At the same time, let us live our lives the best we can and without fear. We had a busy Sunday, with Auden, our grandson, his mother, grandparents, and Chris. It was good for our spirits! I went to the office in the morning. I will have to catch up on more tasks this evening. No problem, as I had a wonderful day. Have a good evening and start your Monday with all your energy! Take care, my friend! 🙂

Wonderful, Fabio. I think that is good too, even if you have to work on the weekend, to have the family and soul-nourishing time too. When I worked full time, I was always working on weekends, yet they were still weekends, with some fun, and it made the week better to be a bit ahead. Have a good night’s sleep, and wake refreshed for your week. Soon you will be on top of all that work!

Thanks so much, Nia! You are a wonderful friend, and you write beautifully! I have just posted a summary of my weekend. The excellent weather allowed us to stay outdoor for some time. We also spent hours in the kitchen preparing the meal, which is also time well spent. Thanks so much and have a good rest too. Your message gave me more peace to start a good week tomorrow. Take care!!! 🙂
